It was the golden age of baseball and all over the country teams gathered on town fields in front of throngs of fans to compete for local glory. The manager of the Death row All Stars, George Saben was himself an inmate but had an in with the prison warden.*

The book is not only about the baseball team but also about the most valuable player, Joseph Sing, and the murder he was accuesed of doing and the investigation of the murder and who was involved in the crime.  Speaker Night is Thursday, February 19th at the Madelyn Helling Library Community room. doors open at 7p.m. and the event usually lasts one hour.
