Speaker Night Features Women Entertainers of the Wild West

Nevada County Historical Society Speaker Night tonight will feature local Author Chris Enss with tales of the Entertaining women who came west to perform in the gold fields and the theaters of California . It was a time when there were very few women out west and very little entertainment.

One of the more successful ones was Lotta Crabtree who lived in Grass Valley.

Enss will share the stories of the Entertaining Women of the West at Speaker Night which gets underway at 7 o’clock tonight at the Madelyn Helling Library Community room. The event is free and open to the public.
