A group of Nevada County non-profits and Sierra Theaters are teaming up to bring a moving documentary about hunger in the US to Grass Valley. A special screening of A Place at the Table will take place Saturday at the Del Oro theater. Sue Van Son, executive director of the Interfaith Food Ministry, says the film tackles a huge problem in our country that doesn’t get talked about enough.
Though the showing is free, donations are gladly accepted at the door, and hosting non-profits will have tables set up so anyone who attends can learn more about ways to get involved and lend a hand in their community. There will also be a panel after the film to discuss hunger in Nevada County.
