Special Screening of Hunger Documentary Saturday

By Ashlyn Rhodes

A group of Nevada County non-profits and Sierra Theaters are teaming up to bring a moving documentary about hunger in the US to Grass Valley.  A special screening of A Place at the Table will take place Saturday at the Del Oro theater.  Sue Van Son, executive director of the Interfaith Food Ministry, says the film tackles a huge problem in our country that doesn’t get talked about enough.

Though the showing is free, donations are gladly accepted at the door, and hosting non-profits will have tables set up so anyone who attends can learn more about ways to get involved and lend a hand in their community.  There will also be a panel after the film to discuss hunger in Nevada County.  To learn more about the special screening or how to get involved or donate to Interfaith Food Ministry, check out their website at InterfaithFoodMinistry.org.
