Speeding Lincoln Followed By CHP Air Units

A Sacramento man is in jail after a chase that exceeded speeds of one hundred and twenty miles an hour. CHP Public Information Officer Dina Hernandez says an Officer spotted a car with paper over the license plate. When the officer tried to perform a traffic stop, driver of the Lincoln started to flee on the freeway. Officer Hernandez says when the driver turned west bound on Highway 20 his speeds reached over one hundred and twenty  miles an hour on the straight stretches of the road. Hernandez says the CHP airplane and helicopter were following the speeding Lincoln.

The driver lost control of the car at Woodfuff Lane and Mathews Road. The car rolled over and hit a telephone pole. The driver 40 year old Melvin Dillon from Sacramento was taken into custody. It was confirmed that Dillion had a felony warrant for assault with a deadly weapon from Sacramento County. Dillon was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
