Spirit Peer Empowerment Center Concert

The Spirit Peer Empowerment Center in Grass Valley is holding an outdoor concert this evening. Its the kickoff of their summer concert series, and is also a fundraiser. Peer Counselor and organizer David Lynott  says there’s lots to check out besides the music.

The concert is from 6 to 8pm. Lynott says the first hour features an all-ukulele band called the “Strum Bums”.

The final hour features the Mike Shapiro Group from San Francisco, which Lynott says has a little more edge to them.

The Spirit Center provides free counseling to people facing mental health challenges. Tickets to the concert are eight dollars. The concert is at the Spirit Center–276 Gates Place, the big green house above Lumberjacks Restaurant.
