You may notice a lot of people out and about in Nevada City today in their work clothes. That’s because this is the start of the third annual Spring Madness community clean-up of Nevada City. The first year they had 175 volunteers, this year they are hoping for that many or more. The check in and staging area for volunteers will be located in the Commercial Street Parking lot next to HAALo,  412 Commercial Street . and the clean up will be underway from 8 am to 1 pm today and tomorrow. All volunteers are asked to check in at that location to sign release forms and for directions.
Residents and business owners will be asked to step up and remove graffiti, repaint gas lamps, fire hydrants and street curbs as well as weed-eat, remove trash, and clear hedges along sidewalks. the City of Nevada City will be providing tools and equipment, but volunteers are also encouraged to bring their own.
