State Assemblywoman Beth Gaines questions the “honor system” for state funds

Republican lawmaker Beth Gaines says the $54 million secret state parks fund reflects a culture of entitlement and deception in Sacramento.

Gaines, who represents the 4th district that includes Auburn and Placerville, says the governor’s office admits it relies on goodwill to get state funding right.

Gaines says residents raised funds for state parks and the  Sacramento agency that had a secret fund while it pled poverty, has some work to do to regain trust.
