State Grant Adds More Trails At Scott Flats Lake

There will soon be a lot more trails around Scotts Flat Lake. The Forest Trails Alliance has received one of nine competitive statewide grants from the California Parks and Recreation Department worth 468-thousand dollars. Anderson says the Phase One Project, completed about two years ago, is a five-mile trail from Five Mile House on Highway 20 down to the lake boat landing. And he says it was done with all-volunteer labor, offsetting around 90-percent of the original 120-thousand dollar cost. And he says the labor will also be volunteer for Phase Two…

Phase Two will also feature new timber bridges. Anderson says work should begin by late summer or fall of next year.
