The movement to form the new state says benefits include local control of resources, and better representation at the federal level.

According to Travis the committee support in the formation of the State of Jefferson is scheduled to present to the Board of Supervisors at their regular meeting the second Tuesday in May.

Will the new state of Jefferson have free high speed internet? Can we just appoint the people's choice, Elizabeth Warren as Governor? Will Republicans be required to show Visas to pass back and forth over the state lines? Will we have our own bullet train? Wow, there so many questions. You know it's not easy working out all these details and changing all the policies that have developed over so many decades while living in the wrong state.

This takes gerrymandering to a new level. Why stop with congressional or legislative districts? If we don't like the results of recent elections, let's just change state lines to include only voters who think like us.

As far as Congressional approval goes, get in line behind Puerto Rico, American Samoa and the Virgin Islands.

This is as wacky as the Republic of North California up on Banner Mountain.
