The day before Earth Day is when the South Yuba River Citizens League is putting on its annual “State of the Yuba” event. River People Manager Jenn Tamo says it begins Thursday at 5pm, at Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley, with a one-hour Open House…
After the Open House, SYRCL will honor its Volunteer of the Year, Kathy Davidson, and its Youth Environmentalist of the Year, Delphine Griffith, and its Partner of the Year, the Sierra Fund. Then come’s the formal “State of the Yuba” presentation from Executive Director, Caleb Dardick. Tamo says that includes remarks on the Fish Don’t Drive campaign…
Marijuana cultivation impacts and SYRCL’s 3-Year Strategic Action Plan will also be part of the presentation. The River Science Director then discusses watershed health. The event wraps up with a chance to pose questions to a panel. Attendees can also find out about volunteer opportunities. That’s from 5 to 8pm Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church.
