State Powerball Sales Begin Today

Californians can now play the very popular ‘Powerball’ lottery game. Tickets are on sale beginning this morning (Monday), as the state becomes the 42nd in the nation to participate in Powerball. The State Lottery Commission decided to add Powerball in November of last year, but it has taken several months to put together an advertising campaign, and update the ticket machines. Doyle-Johnston says like other lottery games, about a third of the money from tickets sold goes to education…

Powerball drawings are Wednesday and Saturday nights at 7:59pm. To commemorate California’s participation, Wednesday’s drawing will be held in Sacramento.
