With reservoirs rising, the State Department of Water Resources has boosted its early-season estimate of next year’s State Water Project Supply. DWR Public Information Officer Ted Thomas says they started with just a 20% projection…
Each December, the Department of Water Resources makes its initial estimate of delivery capability, which is adjusted, hopefully upward, as hydrolic conditions develop through the rainy season. Meanwhile, Thomas says North State reservoir levels continue to climb…
But Thomas says reservoirs further south are still struggling with less precipitation. He says it’s also important to note that nearly all areas served by the State Water Project, which is two-thirds of the state, but below Nevada County, have sources other than their allocation.
