Still Few DUI Arrests During Thanksgiving Weekend

Even though there were a lot more people driving over the Thanksgiving weekend in Western Nevada County, compared to a year ago, with no stay-at-home orders, DUI arrests remained the same, for the third straight year. For the Maximum Enforcement Period, from 6pm last Wednesday to Sunday at midnight, CHP Officer Jason Bice says there were only three. But he says there were 11 accidents, with two involving DUI, and one of those drivers injured…

Bice estimates only four to five of the collisions had any notable injury, mostly minor. He also says four of those crashes were non-injury hit and run, and not necessarily hitting another vehicle…

Bice says distracted driving and speeding were also factors in some of the accidents.
