There is still no Memorandum of Understanding for a cold weather shelter in Nevada City for this winter. Though progress was made towards addressing concerns expressed by the Veterans about use of the Veterans Hall on North Pine Street, Post Commander Will Buck said they do not fully support the revisions.
Buck said the said the sticking points were around security.
Council members want to make sure that the Veterans are completely in support of the proposed MOU. Buck and the council feel that an agreement can be reached.
As a result, staff was directed to meet with the Veterans and Sierra Roots as well as the County to make another set of revisions. The item will be on the ageda again for the next Council Meeting on October 10.
