Stolen Bicycle leads To Bigger Arrest

Shortly after 2:00 PM on Thursday afternoon Grass Valley Police responded to a call reporting a burglary in progress at a residence on Chester St in Grass Valley. Sergeant Steve Johnson says officers arrived on the scene quickly and discovered that a man had entered the residence and fled with several items including a bicycle. The witness had provided a detailed description so police knew what they were looking for.

The suspect was identified as 48 year old Wallace Tarp. A background check identified that Tarp was on probation and also had two warrants for his arrest which included prior theft.

Tarp was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on violation of probation, and his two outstanding warrants.
All the property was returned to the reporting victim.
