Stolen Car Chase Leads to Arrest in Grass Valley

Grass Valley CHP officers were called to Lake of the Pines last night about a vehicle that had just been stolen from an address on Torrey Pines.  They put out a “Be on the lookout”  and   at 10:47 p.m Grass Valley Police spotted   the vehicle as it entered  Grass Valley city limits.  Grass Valley Police Sgt. Joe Matteoni says officers entered pursuit.*

Three occupants in the vehicle took off running and two were apprehended.   Sgt. Matteoni says  18 year old Richard Roberts of Grass Valley was  arrested on charges of failure to yield, stolen vehicle, resisting arrest,  violation of probation and   a $10,000 felony warrant for possession of a firearm.  A male juvenile was also arrested.

The third person was the subject of a CHP helicopter search over the Grass Valley area last night.  Police are still working to confirm who the third suspect was and take that person into custody.
As for the stolen car,  it had to be towed away.
