Speed, drugs, and alcohol may be contributing factors to a second serious accident early Wednesday.
A driver traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Lower Colfax and Mt Olive Rd passed a Nevada County Sheriff deputy traveling in the opposite direction. Sheriff Keith Royal says his officer turned around to try and locate the vehicle.

The driver a 39 year old male from Grass Valley was unconscious with major head trauma and was transported to Sutter Roseville Hospital.

The driver is being treated at Sutter Roseville Hospital and was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of stolen vehicle, driving under the influence, possession of drugs, and the warrant for previous vehicle theft and drug charges.
