Stolen Mail Discovered After Arrest

A woman who was taken into custody on drug violations is also facing charges of mail theft.  Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says deputies made contact with 41 year old Dawn Lee of Penn Valley who was on active parole  as she was in a vehicle on Timm Lane at Lake Vera Purdon Road.

Deputies says Lee tried to conceal a meth pipe in her hand then threw the pipe into the road.  The sheriff says the deputy then searched the vehicle and found stolen mail.

Lee was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, obstructing and resisting an officer, attempting to destroy evidence and being under the influence of a controlled substance.  Investigation of the stolen mail is ongoing
