Strike Team Sent to Butte County Fire

There’s no immediate fire threat in Nevada County, but for some firefighters, that just means they’ll be out fighting fires somewhere else. This isn’t the first time a strike team has been sent out this summer, and a couple of the firefighters on this strike team were on the one that was sent to the Erskine Fire in Kern County in June. Buttron says it kind of depends on the incident and the circumstances as to who gets sent out…

Otherwise, if the need is more immediate, the firefighters who were on duty would be sent, just like a local fire call. The Saddle Fire has burned more than 800 acres and has destroyed three structures–including one home near the town of Paradise.
