Structure Fire in Colfax

A structure fire originally reported as a vegetation fire broke out in the Colfax area just after 5:00 PM Tuesday. Captain John Burns with Grass Valley Emergency Command says that the fire is near Sierra Canyon Rd and the Colfax Cemetery Road area.

Burns say that crews were concerned that he fire could spread to as much as 100 acres if it were to get to the vegetation. CALFIRE was also providing air support with three tankers one copter and an air-tac.*

Smoke from the fire was visible as far as Grass Valley.
