Stuck Truck Leads to Six Arrests on Burglary Charges

Getting their truck stuck in the mud did not bode well for 6 suspects arrested on burglary charges by Nevada County Sheriff’s on Saturday. Around 6:45 p.m. a neighbor in the area of Bittney Springs and Rough and Ready Highway called to report people moving back and forth from a Uhaul truck and the caller reported people sometimes were known to dump trash in the area and wanted deputies to investigate. When deputies arrived they found a UHaul truck and 6 individuals, all with different stories.

Deputies followed mud tracks leading to the back of Wang’s Chinese Restaurant where the sheriff says a semi-trailer was open and empty.

All 6 suspects were arrested for a variety of charges which included commercial burglary and one of the individuals, 23 year old Jeffrey Dean, was also arrested on three outstanding warrants for his arrest.
