Students To Learn The New State Test

Among the academic challenges students will be dealing with, as classes resume, will be learning a new way to take the annual state test, which used to be known as the STAR exam. Suzi Rosaf, testing coordinator for the Nevada Joint Union High School District, says the format will no longer be just multiple-choice questions. Rosaf says the idea is to be more closely aligned with recently-approved, and more rigorous, state academic standards. Prepartory tests will be conducted this school year, with results not counting until the 2016-2017 school year. But students should be more comfortable with all testing now being done on a computer.
