Sunday Fire Update

Collins Fire: Collins, Collins Lake, Yuba County. Fire is burning in heavy brush and grass. The fire is burning to the northeast of the previous County fire. Firefighters made good progress over night. The fire is estimated at 15 acres and 70% contained. Full containment by Monday night. Winds will be a concern again today. No injuries reported. No road closures or evacuations. Approximately 120 firefighters on scene.
Nevada County Consolidated Fire, Grass Valley Fire, Higgins Fire, Ophir Hill Fire, Peardale Fire, and Cal Fire were dispatched to vegetation fire with power lines down in the area of Cougar Ct. near Dog Bar at 6:00 pm on Saturday.
Nevada County Consolidated Fire Engine-89, Engine-88 and Higgins Engine-21 arrived to find 1 acre fire on the hillside with moderate rate of spread and a strong North wind.
Quick action by crews contained fire to 1 acre with no damage to structures. No injures reported, fire remains under investigation. The incident was terminated at 8:00 pm.
Nevada County Consolidated Fire, Grass Valley Fire and Cal Fire responded to reported vegetation fire on La Barr Meadows at 10:30 on Saturday night.
Grass Valley Battalion 1311 arrived at scene to find 1/4 acre fire in light fuel with slow rate of spread. Nevada County Consolidated Fire Engine 88  along with Engine 2371 arrived with Battalion 1311 to extinguish the fire.  Fire contained with no damage to structures and no injuries. Fire remains under investigation. The incident was terminated at 11:30 pm.
