Supervisor Candidates Debate for Tea Party

The first political debate took place at the Nevada County Fairgrounds Wednesday evening. The event hosted by the Nevada County Tea Party included Supervisor District 3 Candidates Terry Lamphier and Dan Miller. District Four candidates included Hank Weston, Fran Cole, and Jedediah Biagi. According to facilitator Fran Freedle the event drew a good crowd.

Candidates responded to questions about where they stood on a Marijuana Ordinance, local taxes and fees, property owner rights, federal and state funding, fighting for rural counties in Sacramento, and making Nevada County more business friendly.

The format included a three minute opening statement from each candidate, two minutes to respond to each question, and then a three minute closing statement.

The Tea Party is holding two more debates for other electoral races in March and April.
