A plan for spending part of over 19-million dollars of federal coronavirus recovery money has been approved by Nevada County Supervisors. The County has received the first half of the funding, or nine-point-six million dollars. And the Board, at their Tuesday meeting, gave the go-ahead for spending five-point-two million of that allotment. Anderson says types of projects that fit into cost-recovery criteria have now been identified by county departments and agencies…

And Anderson says three projects have been identified in the community and economic resiliency category: microgrants of up to five-thousand dollars for small businesses…low-interest loans for small businesses…and a community benefits grant program. Counties have until the end of 2024 to spend all the recovery money, which is through the American Rescue Plan Act.
