The decisions on two of the three proposed Dollar General stores will be appealed to the Nevada County Board of Supervisors, and an appeal on the third project is expected to follow. Yesterday (Monday) was the deadline on the Rough and Ready Highway and Penn Valley projects, and County Principal Planner Tyler Barrington says the appeals were expected…
County staff had recommended approving the Penn Valley location, and also recommended against the Rough and Ready site, which the Planning Commission went along with, but staff was in favor of going ahead with a store in Alta Sierra-a recommendation that the Planning Commission went against. Barrington says because of that, the Alta Sierra location is back to the Planning Commission again this week…
Another ten-day appeal period will then begin after Thursday’s meeting, and the applicant is expected to appeal the commission’s decision. Barrington says the next step would be for the Board of Supervisors to schedule a hearing, which probably wouldn’t be held until at least January.
