Grass Valley Police picked up a man that was behaving oddly in a shopping center off the Nevada City highway following a call from a concerned citizen. Lt. Alex Gammelgard says the call reported a male suspect acting as if he may be under the influence of a controlled substance.
At that time, the officer performed field sobriety tests.
The officer placed Madsen under arrest and then performed a search of the suspect.
Madsen had just under a half gram of methamphetamine and two hypodermic needles in his possession.
Madsen was booked for being in possession of and under the influence of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
