Suspect Almost Runs Over Police

Grass Valley Police Officers had to jump out of the way of a speeding car. Police Sergeant Joe Matteoni says early Saturday morning officers were responding to a call of a suspicious car. The Sergeant says the officers could hear a car accelerating very quickly.

Officers quickly gave chase and stopped the car, taking 26 year old Patrick Kahler of Grass Valley. Kahler was taken into custody for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, reckless driving and drunk driving. Sergeant Matteoni says even when the officer jumped out of the way of the speeding car, the driver only missed the officer by two feet.
