Suspect Arrested For Illegal Weapon and Drugs in NSJ

A suspect arrested for an illegal weapon and drugs after being spotted in front of a North San Juan drinking establishment. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says a deputy coming through town spotted three men in front of the Brass Rail and recognized one as having prior drug related issues. The sheriff stopped to make contact with the men.

Since there were no other violations, the man was released. The deputy then performed an area check looking for the other two men.
The officer located one of the men, 22 year old Donald Garcia, walking behind the Brass Rail. The deputy asked Garcia if he could be searched.

The brass knuckles are illegal and Garcia had made a modification making them more dangerous.

At that point Garcia was taken into custody for the knife and brass knuckles, and while being cuffed the deputy noticed a chain on the suspect’s pants.

Garcia was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on weapon and drug related charges.
