A Penn Valley man is under arrest after a multi agency investigation focused on him as the suspect. Yuba County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Damon Gil says a stolen car, boat motor, gas and items stolen from cars had been reported over the last several months at Bullards Bar Reservoir.

Lieutenant Gil says investigators from his office contacted investigators from the Grass Valley Police and Nevada County Sheriff’s Office to help in identifying a suspect. 37-year-old John Schrecongost of Penn Valley was identified as the man trying to use stolen credit cards taken in some of the thefts. Lieutenant Gil says investigators search Schrecongost’s home on Monday.
