The suspect in an incident last month where a man was shot in the leg, is now facing charges of attempted murder. 61 year old Michael Henry Mozzetti of Rough and Ready was arrested after several witnesses were interviewed at the property where the shooting took place in the 10-thousand block of La Sierra Drive on January 31st. The shooting victim had been living in one of the trailers on the property, according to Nevada County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Smethers.

Deputies who executed a search warrant at the property were able to retrieve a 22 calibur rifle that is believed to be the weapon involved.
Lt. Smethers said the property had been used for marijuana cultivation, but they are not sure if that is related. Mozzetti is being held at County jail on a no-bail warrant.
