Suspect arrested trying to flee on bike

A suspect who stole a cell phone and was groping womens bottoms outside a Mill Street Theater then tried to make a getaway on a bicycle, but he didn’t have very much luck evading police. The series of events were reported to Grass Valley Police around 9:15 Sunday evening. According to Lt. Alex Gammelgard.

The suspect then broke into a bicycle shop located  on Neal Street.

Unfortunately for him, the suspect had taken a bike that had a flat tire which slowed his getaway progress.

After questioning witnesses and victims outside the theater, police learned that Gilbert had stolen a cell phone from one man and was attempting to grope women on the buttocks.

Gilbert is being charged with Commercial Burglary, Robbery, Sexual Battery, Receiving known stolen property, Vandalism, and Disorderly Conduct for being intoxicated in public. Bail has been set at $100,000.
