Suspect Jumps From Second Floor Balcony

A suspect jumped from a second story balcony trying to avoid Grass Valley Police Wednesday night. Sgt Joe Matteoni says the incident began when the officer witnessed what he believed to be a drug transaction at a Dorsey Drive apartment complex.

The suspect, Ryan Hauck, 25 of Grass valley, soon ran out of room on the balcony.

Officers were able to catch Hauck within a couple hundred yards. Hauck was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial hospital for treatment of his injuries and then booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on a number of charges including committing a felony while on bail.

Also, Grass Valley Police have nabbed two men accused of breaking into cars. Sergerant Matteoni says officers arrested 20 year-old Keith Rushing of Grass Valley and 33 year-old Jason Vogt of Grass Valley on Bennett Street around 4 o’clock yesterday morning.

Rushing also had violated his probation, and Vogt had previous warrants for his arrest.
