Suspected Murder Victim Remains Found

The autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. 57-year-old Russell Rippetoe of Barstow was arrested last Thursday. He was taken into custody at the property. Scales says the body of the victim was buried near a cannabis grow. But he indicates the killing is not likely linked to the grow…

Scales says it’s believed the victim was killed about a week before his remains were found. He says Rippetoe was believed one of a number of people living at the undeveloped property, in several trailers set up temporarily while the cannabis is cultivated. There have been no other arrests.
