Suspicious Briefcase in Colfax

The Placer County Bomb squad was called out Tuesday to the Train Depot in Colfax after a passerby noticed a briefcase left between a retaining wall and a garbage can. Lt. Mike Reed with the Sheriff’s department says they brought out their bomb robot to move the briefcase so they could examine the contents.

No explosives were found. Lt Reed says no one has claimed the briefcase or has reported one missing. The papers inside did not provide information as to where the briefcase came from. Nor did video servailence in the area did not provide any clues as to the owner.
