SYRCL Launches Yuba River Monitors

A new public relations campaign to remind people to keep the South Yuba River a safe place to recreate had a successful launch on the Fourth of July.  The program, a joint venture between the South Yuba River Citizens League and the Parks Foundation,  placed  volunteers  at the Hwy 49 crossing of the river and  at Purdon’s Crossing .  River Ambassador Captain, Terra Nyssa,  says  they had volunteers walking the river and   a booth set up at Purdon’s Crossing.

The river monitors are there to remind people to clean up after their dogs,   and to reinforce  that glass containers and fires are prohibited along the river, and to ‘pack out’ what you pack in,  as there is no trash pickup at Purdon’s Crossing .
