Tahoe National Forest Grant Information Open House

The Tahoe National Forest staff is seeking input from the public regarding several grants that focus on off-road vehicle access on forest lands. According to Forest Trails Program Manager, Joe Chavez, the TNF Service is hosting an open house to review the applicationsĀ  today from 4:00 to 7:30 PM.

The format of the open house will allow particpants to visit as many of the five grant applications as they wish in order to provide input.

There will also be a table to review a planning grant for future needs; and a restoratiojn grant to repair damage caused by OHV use.

The state has made available 10 milion dollars statewide which is about half of the funds that were available in the past. Organizations that have forest land within there jursidication will be competeing for the funds.

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the law enforcement grant application. The preliminary grants will be revised based on feedback and then be submitted in early March.
The Open House is Tuesday Feb 12 from 4-7:30 at the Tahoe National Forest Office 631 Coyote St. Nevada City.
