Nevada County Treasurer Tax Collector Tina Vernon sought authorization from the Board of Supervisors today to conduct an on-line auction to sell tax defaulted property by an auction on the internet . The auction would run for four days from November 9th to the 12th. Vernon says properties become tax defaulted and subject to sale after property taxes go unpaid for 5 years.

….and six of the properties are in the Eastern County.  Vernon says the web site www.bidforassets.com will be used to sell the properties and people can go to that website for information  . Vernon says they moved to an online auction as opposed to an auction on the courthouse steps because more people have access to the auction on line.
