Tax Extension Deadline Extended Again

It’s an extension to the extension. Due to the fires, Nevada County residents who filed for an extension to pay their income taxes, now have three more months to file. David Tucker with the Internal Revenue Service says if you filed for an extension back in April, you had until today to file again, but now that deadline has been moved up to January 31…

Four other counties are also getting the deadline extended because of fire disaster. Tucker reminds people that an extension to file is not an extension to pay…

…but you will not be charged interest between now and the end of January. Tucker says most taxpayers have already filed.
