Tech Company ‘Grass Valley’ To Be Sold

Broadcast equipment company Grass Valley is being sold. Francisco Partners, based in Hillsboro, Oregon with operations in Nevada City, has reached an agreement with Saint Louis-based Beldan Incorporated worth 220 million dollars. Both companies issued statements regarding the agreement, but have not indicated what the sale may mean locally. Nevada City Mayor Sally Harris has worked in mergers and acquisitions with technology companies, and says it’s unlikely that the Nevada City campus would be shut down…

The exact number of employees in Nevada City is not disclosed, but the impact of the company is more than economic. Harris says the community has benefitted from a grant that enabled the former Grass Valley Group to move to Nevada City from their old office on Bittney Springs Road…
