Teen Arrests in Attempted Penn Valley Burglary

An apparent burglary in Penn Valley was interrupted when the homeowners unexpectedly returned to the residence. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says the incident began on the 18000 block of Siesta Dr around 9:00 PM Tuesday.

The resident then noticed that a toolbag that had been left in the house was now in the truck and tools scattered about..and the ignition had been forcibly opened suggesting the suspect was attempting to hotwire the truck. The resident then noticed some other things we amiss in the house.

A t-shirt was also located next to the truck. While checking the area Sheriff officers located two teenage males with no shirts on walking near Rough and Ready Highway and Highway 20.

Both teens were taken in to custody and booked into juvenile hall.
