According to the survey, the average West Coast family of four is projected to spend an average of 681 dollars over the holiday weekend, and those that travel by car are likely to drive an average of 795 miles over the four days. Whether you travel by plane or car, you should check weather conditions before you leave. If you are driving, make sure your car is in good working order. Wednesday and Sunday will be the busiest travel days, and the interstates and freeways will be very busy by noon on those days, and most congested between 4 and 7 pm.
