For the life of me, I will never understand why people go to a movie and insist on asking questions about what’s happening through out the entire film. I went to see The Stooges movie Saturday afternoon. The person who came in 5 minutes after the show started (using a flash light to find his way to the seat next to me) never stopped talking! I can be a very understanding person, I appreciate how a story like “Inception” can be confusing. You might need the insight of your movie going friend to unravel some of the tangle…but The Stooges? Really? The movie is true to the original Stooges shorts, straight forward slap stick with no social commentary. This person was taking a lot of risk talking throughout the movie in a theater filled with people that love eye pokes and nose twisting. Fortunately he got away with nothing worse than the scathing glare that we all have developed for just this situation.
One other thought about this movie, at the end of the movie the Farrely Brothers came on with a “don’t try these stunts at home” message. Are we to believe that people would really take to whacking each other with sledge hammers? And if they did…wouldn’t that be Darwinism at it’s finest? Just sayin…..
And stay all the way through the credits for a music video featuring Jennifer Hudson and the boys. I think there were only 5 of us that did so, and what a treat we got!
