The Mantra Continues- Vaccinate and Boost for the Holidays

School is out, Christmas is on Saturday, and people are celebrating in both small and large groups. Unfortunately, the Omicron variant is on the charge attempting to disrupt celebrations. During a recent update from Nevada County Public Health, Deputy Medical Officer Dr. Glennah Trochet reminds us that the best protection is vaccination and boosters. Pfizer published data showing its booster increased immunity against Omicron. Moderna also recently shared the same news regarding both the initial vaccination and the booster.

Dr. Trochet also stresses the importance of masking and social distancing when at gatherings when all of the attendees may not be vaccinated.

Officials also reminds us that of you have not yet been immunized, it is never too late to start.
