The String Sisters Farewell Concert Sunday

They are called the String Sisters and they met when they attended the same elementary school and learned to play music together according to Emilie Rose, one of the String Sisters…who are not really sisters but friends.

Emilie Rose says she learned to play the violin, Lace Tyrrell the Cello, and Delphini Griffiths the Harp.

You may have seen the String Sisters at the Celtic Festival where they began performing in 2010 and they have also attended Alasdair Fraser’s Fiddle Camp for 10 years in a row and also played with the Scottish Fiddlers.
Now the String Sisters are preparing to head off to college, Emilie says she has been accepted to Berkelee College of Music in Boston,

and Delphine Griffiths is heading to Sara Lawrence University. Lace Tyrell has already finished her first year of college, also studying music.

Most recently they have been playing with Simon Luce, an accomplished guitar player who has also been in the Music In the Mountains Young composers program and is said to have perfect pitch.

The String Sisters and friends will be playing a Farewell Concert at the Open book next to Sierra Mountain coffee Roasters this Sunday May15th starting at 4pm.

Emilie says since they are all going to east coast colleges they also hope to get in on the Celtic Music popularity on the east coast right now.
