Thefts From Parked Vehicles on the Rise in GV

The Grass Valley Police are cautioning residents not to leave valuables in their unlocked cars. Grass Valley Police Captain Rex Marks says items such as computers, cell phones, cameras, and money are being left in unlocked cars throughout the city. Officer Marks is encouraging residents to put their valuable where they belong and to lock their cars even if they are home.

Officers took seven reports of items being taken from unlock cars yesterday. Captain Marks says the thefts appear to be crimes of opportunity. The thief walks by the unlocked car and sees something that is very easy to take and is gone.
