On any given night there are hundreds of people in Nevada County who have no place to call home. This Saturday night, October 5th people will have the opportunity to create their own cardboard shelter and spend the night at the Nevada County Fairgrounds as a benefit for Hospitality House. Board President Joanna Robinson says its called Think Outside the Cardboard Box.

Participants are asked to register on the website H-H-Shelter-Dot-Org. and collect pledges with a goal of raising a minimum $100 dollars. Robinson says many children get involved and some of the cardboard structures are very impressive.

Prizes will be given for the most original designs.
Those who can’t spend the night are invited to an evening of music, food and entertainment from 5 to 8 p.m. for a $20 donation.
Hospitality House is still in the process of renovating Utah’s Place, a 54 bed shelter for the homeless and hope to Move In by the beginning of November.
