Census officials have resumed field deliveries of 2020 questionnaires, after the so-called Update Leave operation was suspended by the coronavirus shutdown two months ago. The media specialist for Northern California, Marnie Davis, says nearly five-thousand packets will be delivered over the next three weeks to Nevada County residents. Rural areas, especially in the foothills, have more residents who haven’t received forms yet…
The Census Bureau says post office boxes are not considered to be attached to households. Other residents seeing deliveries include Placer, El Dorado, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Yolo, Yuba, and Sutter Counties. Davis says despite the suspension of field operations, the count has been going great in California, including in Nevada County…
Davis says the deadline to return census questionnaires is October 31st, but the Census Bureau begins non-response followups in August. Nevada County’s population, after the 2010 census, was 99-thousand-755.
