Thousands to Gather for Annual Turkey Trot

It’s a fun event with a serious message and a good cause. For the tenth straight year, Thanksgiving morning is the time for the Michael Edward Bratton the Second Turkey Trot. The event was organized in memory of Mike Bratton’s son who took his own life after battling depression.

Proceeds go to groups like A New Day, NEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Friendship Club, and Nevada Union athletics, where the younger Bratton played football and coached. Bratton says he expects over three-thousand people, with something in it for everyone…

Registration begins at 7:30, the kids race starts at 8:15, and the other events start around 8:30 at the football field at Nevada Union High School. You can still sign up the day of the event.
