Threats and DUI Lead to Two Different Arrests

An intoxicated male was distraught and concerned his wife so much that she hid his handgun. Unfortunately the male subject became more upset and threatened to harm her when he found the gun.

Nevada County Undersheriff Joe Salivar says the woman was able to flee the residence and call 911.
When deputies arrived at the Ridge Road residence they located Mathew Pohl 48 and took him into custody for making criminal threats.

Also late Thursday a male driver was taken into custody following a traffic stop for a mechanical infraction and expired registration tags.  Salivar says Christopher Mefford was driving on ridge Road near Via Vista when a deputy spotted the infractions.

The deputy also discovered the vehicle registration expired in 2011 and the Drivers ID did not match the driver.

Mefford was booked on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance as well as providing false ID and license requirements.
